Review on Marina Decorative Gravel 1 Pound Blue by Gillian Francis

I am a college student and just bought a rooster. She is very sweet and I named her Bub. After receiving it, I realized I was doing some things wrong. The bottom in her tank was very rough and I read that bettas can get hurt if the rocks at the bottom of the tank aren't smooth, so of course I decided to buy her new rocks. They were exactly how I imagined them: small, smooth, lavender-colored pebbles. I followed the directions on the packaging to wash them and place them in the aquarium before putting my betta in her fancy new tank with her fancy new stones. She immediately started acting strange. She started swimming around her new aquarium strangely, trying to jump out of the water (which she had never done before). I thought maybe it's the new landscape. I was wrong. Eventually, about ten minutes after she went nuts, she stopped moving much. I could tell she was alive because she moved a little from time to time. I googled and decided she was sleeping. I was wrong again. She was probably in the tank for about six hours (I paced the dorm all day) before I realized something was really wrong. Usually when I came back to the dormitory after class, she would get out of her little pirate ship and start swimming, but she hadn't moved for several hours. Even when I'm just working at my desk, she's still floating around most of the time. I did some more research on the internet and found that roosters behave the same way as Bab when the pH is wrong or they are in a toxic environment. When I found out about this, I panicked because she had been in the aquarium for a long time. I quickly took her back to her old tank with her old rocks and other water, but she was still barely moving. From time to time she would shudder or wince slightly. It was awful to watch. I fell asleep that night thinking I would wake up to find my fish dead. Thankfully, when I woke up, she was alive and started swimming again. It took about a day before she behaved like before. In conclusion, DO NOT BUY THIS AQUARIUM GRAVEL. I read some other reviews that said it worked great for them and I have no doubt it worked but my fish almost died. If I were to buy again I would just go to the pet store and buy gravel instead of ordering online. Don't risk the life of your fish by buying this gravel.
