I'm a computer consultant with many years of experience. I figured this TP-Link Foldable USB 3.0 to 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet Network Adapter (UE300) would be an easy implementation. Not correct! I just went through a very time consuming process to try to get it working on my Windows 8.0 machine. The adapter should be "Plug and Play" for my version of Windows (and many others). That didn't work for me. I tried using TP-Link online chat for technical support. I followed their instructions to give them specific information about my computer - mainly from Device Manager; I downloaded and installed their Windows 8 device driver (which shouldn't have been needed) on 2 different computers. I have tested my computer many times to see if I can connect to the internet and I have consistently reported failed test results (including screenshots) to tech support. All this was a futile effort. And it took over an hour. Considering the amount of my lost bills, this TP-Link UE300 Gigabit Ethernet Adapter has become very expensive and I am very annoyed with TP-Link's technical support! After speaking to a level 2 tech support specialist I was presented with 2 options. A: 1. Send it back to TP-Link via the normal RMA process for a replacement. 2. Return to Revain for a replacement. I will not spend any more time replacing this $9.99 item (and possibly ending up with another defective unit). What a serious waste of my time!
