Sorry for the long post. I am in love with these hooks. I'm new to Tunisian (I've been crocheting for over 30 years, I want to learn something new). I started with bamboo first (they're cheap and light, but the neck piece isn't for me), so I've moved on to metal, which is great, but painful/uncomfortable when I'm not using the whole hook and I'm new to it I wanted for smaller projects. Which brings me to it, I got the first set in the larger size and then the set in the smaller size. Along the way, I saw double-sided patterns when I was looking for Tunisian, so I got another complete set as a gift. (Works because I have some big project bags lol). For me they are smooth. Since I'm used to regular hooks, you have to get used to turning the cable. Smooth sailing from there. The only thing I could change is maybe make the hook a little longer so they have a dual purpose. They are about 4.1/2 long and a regular crochet hook is about 6. It seems odd to me when trying to use them for regular crochet projects.
