These washers are great for aligning new doors to old door frames. Over time the house may settle and/or the wooden door frames may warp. Before discovering these pre-made gaskets, I made my own out of brass gaskets. They have screw holes/slots to hold them in place when attaching the hinges to the door frame. You can crop them, move them in or out to adjust how much they move. They were much easier to adapt to requirements than using brass washers.
