The most important thing to note is that the rose itself is very pretty: the iridescent petals really catch the ambient line and shine.As for the downsides, the dome, the base, and the little multi-colored balls look fairly cheap. (During transport and removing the rose from the box, quite a few of those little balls got caught in the petals and it's proving to be impossible to move them, though you can't really see them from far away.) Also, when the lights are turned on, well, I'll just say that it's not my favorite. If I had the chance to order this again, I'd prefer white lights. That said, the ones in this variety are very colorful and bright, so if that's something you enjoy, you'd probably like this a lot.As for me, I have sitting this on a bookshelf in my living room, and again, it's really surprisingly pretty. I don't often use the lights because I find that the loveliness of the rose comes through much better when the colorful lights are off (but that's just my personal preference).So if you're looking for a pretty piece to add to your decor or to gift to someone in your life, I would recommend this. Up close, it doesn't look like a high-ticket item by any means, but it's pretty and shiny and does a great job of catching the light.
