This soap is number 1 for many reasons. Provides a pleasant close shave and a pleasant smell that is not at all overpowering. It also goes away after a while. Lathers up very easily on my brush and faster than I'm used to. I shave up in the first pass and up in the second pass. No bumps, no cuts, nothing but a baby clean shave. I've been making this for over 40 years and I can say this is a great shaving soap. Note that I've only been using this soap for a week, so I can't say how often I'll shave or if the smell will go away with it. time and usage.
