If you have or can rent a circular saw and nail clipper/file, installation is easy. I was confused when I first added this item to my cart because it offered a $165 assembly service. When service contacted me I asked for clarification - is this a charge for assembly and installation? You said not just assembly. But they can install it for an additional fee. I've decided to try everything myself and I'm a woman (engineer). Well the item arrived in a huge box (a few weeks late) as another reviewer commented, but it came assembled! In my case I was replacing my previous first aid kit which was the same size in width but about 8 inches shorter in height. The circular saw should extend installation dimensions. And I came across a nail that I had to file. There are 2 directions, but be careful, only the small writing in the corner distinguishes between "surface" and "recessed" mounting. It was very easy, only 4 screws were needed. No sealer or putty was required as another reviewer said, so I've included a second photo to prove it. Anyway, I like the extra space and there's no problem with the magnifying mirror staying in place, as another reviewer commented. I'm about to order another one for my other bathroom!
