For my use this little gem is perfect. I have a 22.5 inch Weber Performer grill with grates that allow you to place different inserts in the center. I use this hot tub by filling it 1/2 full with charcoal and placing it wide side up which provides perfect coverage for my cast iron grill liner. Steaks, hamburgers, hot dogs, or anything that needs a quick sear. I also add hickory or pecan chunks which give it a smoky BBQ flavor. This method will quickly give you an amazing browned crust with no breakouts. Close the lid for a few minutes, which really enhances the flavor of the smoke. In short, this device puts out intense heat but uses a lot less charcoal.
