While this is a very solid, well built mounting hardware I just couldn't install it as advertised. I would be 100% satisfied with the product if mounted on my can as shown in the instructions, but it just doesn't work in my car and there doesn't seem to be any way to mount it other than the "official" that uses the seat rail car. Unfortunately, it is not clear from the advertisements or instructions that this product only works in SOME vehicles. The way the device is constructed doesn't really allow for much flexibility in installation options, nor does it provide a list of vehicles in which the product is known to be used. The mounting hardware itself is very solid and offers a lot of flexibility in terms of the angles you can mount the tablet at. I wouldn't say the locking mechanism provides "anti-theft" protection for the device, but it's enough to at least slow down most attempts to escape with your tablet. The holder uses pieces of foam to hold the tablet in place, which isn't always ideal. It also doesn't work perfectly with all tablets as some manufacturers place their own charging sockets. I'm sure this product will work great for some people. But not for me and for many others I suspect.
