I use these controllers to protect my car battery powered pan/tilt/zoom cameras which are powered by a 100 watt solar panel. The compact size is great for my applications. I have it in a case but knowing it's waterproof is an extra layer of protection. I've used several other controller configurations, some with voltage ratings and different indicator lights that are more draining on the battery. I've also used controllers with on and off buttons where if the controller shuts down due to a low battery voltage, I have to physically press the button to restart the system. In winter, during the short daylight hours, the controller turns off to protect the cameras from low-voltage operation, and this device turns on automatically in the morning when the battery voltage increases.
