Mini with minimal info

I wasn't sure what to think of this very expensive miniature air filter but now after spending some time with it I can say it shows promise but with some informative clarifications that are likely to be required. with list and operating instructions. I find the marketing materials and specs in this listing a bit confusing. It seems to combine the characteristics of this mini filter with its larger wall mounted version. Their properties differ significantly. This mini air filter should really only be advertised as an air purifier in my opinion. The filter component is limited to a mesh type pre-filter. It is a detachable plastic net that can be washed and reused repeatedly. It may exhibit some electrical charge properties that cause airborne particles to cling to it, but otherwise it has a relatively small surface area and is limited by the particle size it can remove. I think this is probably mainly to prevent larger dust particles from getting into the filter and the "sterilizing" part of the filter. You must also remove the filter base to access it. You then need to carefully pry it out of the 2 mounting tabs holding it in place. This is a delicate procedure. This whole process is not so easy that many people want to do it and/or think about it often. This is actually just a two-stage filter, although the listing lists it as a four-stage filter. This is in fact a larger 4 step wall mounted version. There is no activated carbon, HEPA or UV radiation in this filter. I think that the sterilizing part of the filter is where the real work and uniqueness of this filter takes place. I can understand why it doesn't have HEPA or UV because those features would cause it to use a lot more power. This would prevent it from being a portable, battery-powered cleaner in a small, lightweight form factor. The sterilizer function seems to create a clean smelling airflow from the top of the air purifier. During operation, the small internal fan that moves the air actually produces a sound that is very similar to a computer fan. It's not uncomfortable and I could sleep with it as background noise. When I'm sitting at my desk typing this review, it's a little annoying (like a noisy computer fan, for example). I would have preferred if it was quieter or at least quieter. Just to be clear and to avoid confusion, the gray mesh coating on the outside of both cleaners is purely cosmetic. It is not part of the airflow or filtration process. This mini has no filters that need to be replaced or swapped out, just a pre-filter that needs to be removed, rinsed, dried and reinserted from time to time. Not sure what exactly and how the "sterilizer" works, but it's subtle. I wish it had better documentation or marketing information. Application. I downloaded the iOS version of the Aura app. Upon launch, a blank white screen appears with a green banner, the Aura logo, and a refresh button at the top of the screen. My guess is that Bluetooth should find and list the appropriate aura filter for you to select. Then I assume that other features of the application will appear. Again, this is another example of how you really need to provide more information. The application should at least let you know what should happen. So I can assume that the mini cleaner has no Co2 and smoking functions and does not connect to the application via Bluetooth. This little mini filter is starting to look like an overpriced blower. I'm not sure if it really cleans the air of bacteria, viruses and mold. It certainly has many uses in today's public health crisis. I want to see more certificates and test results. Clean up the marketing. Eliminate confusion between it and the larger wall mounted version. Include additional information in the user manual. Take it easy. Make the pre-filter stronger and easier to remove. Give more examples of how to use it and where to put it and maybe some other small tweaks and then I think it will be a 4 star product maybe even 5. It doesn't feel like a work in progress on. It feels like a finished product. It's just a little vague as to what it does, and that information is valuable to help support the high price tag. 3 stars seems correct at the moment.
