Decent second monitor - screen problems after 1 year

As a secondary display, the monitor was fine, after about 8 months of use, artifacts appeared on the screen, after a year it reached this point at the top and bottom of the display. As it keeps getting worse I have to buy a new monitor if it can't be fixed. More e-waste, cheers.
