Review on PDP Gaming Rechargeable Battery Pack X by Jesus Baker

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Acceptable battery life, easy installation, uses MicroUSB charging

I need to use up my AA batteries and change the batteries on my controllers too. The battery capacity is a little "low" if you ask me because regular NIMH batteries are about twice the capacity of this kit and that's the show. Although they are easy to charge and work great especially if you leave them in the dock; The controller's battery life decreases while playing on batteries. Also "up to" 20 hours is definitely correct; Because when I play racing games with a lot of rumble, we seem to get around 6 hours of battery life. Although it's normal for people like me who don't play that often; This can be an issue for those with long gaming sessions. Another "annoying" thing about this set; that they do not provide any document. The docking station is sold separately (I have one) so a micro USB cable is required for charging. Port directly on the controller to charge itself. This results in a weird secondary charging port as it doesn't charge when I plug the controller itself into microUSB (for XB1) or USB-C (for SeriesX). After all; It's definitely handy, but I'd just go with the dock version as it costs extra money (or the same money if you get a bundle + dock) to be able to easily dock the controllers.

Pros
  • 1200mah battery provides 20 hours of gameplay on a single charge
Cons
  • Not bad
