I bought this immediately after seeing it to make sure I had it in time. Nothing comes out of the box. Luckily his mom ordered the same one and it REALLY worked. I wanted to return, especially since it's not cheap, but the return period has expired. I think they should offer longer return times during the holidays if you order things in advance.
