I decided to buy these because there is too much work to fix the audio in the post. I've used some Wesc consumer headphones that worked fine during the hum, but after a while they kept giving me earaches (probably due to the tight factory EQ curve) and made me wonder if the rumble of a plane was nearby would get through. in tone. These Senal SMH-1000's are much more audible on the pitch. The EQ is much flatter, putting less strain on the ears and picking up things that regular headphones don't pick up (especially at low frequencies). The pressure they put on the ears gets annoying over time, but is quite comfortable. a big problem with any in-ear headphones. While the noise cancellation is pretty good, I found I was using a much lower volume than I used to. For more comfort, you can replace the ear pads with Senal suede ear pads (pair) or Senal genuine lambskin ear pads (pair). I haven't tested them yet, so I can't comment on that. I bought these instead of the Sony MDR7506 Professional Large Diaphragm Headphones because the cable is detachable, which is great if you want to fit all your gear in one bag. There is a 3 foot straight cable and a 10 foot coiled cable (about 6 feet loose). To attach the cable, connect it to the left side of the headphone and twist it, there is a plastic sleeve at the end that connects it to the headphone. It stays in even if you don't rotate it. The downside is that the plug is 2.5mm (at least I'm almost sure there isn't any information on the Senal website). If you lose yours, finding a universal coiled cord with both 2.5mm and 3.5mm plugs can be difficult. It looks like the headphones are aluminum, but I'm not sure if they're painted black or anodized. There are spots where the metal of the earbuds can bang against each other and potentially chip the paint. To prevent this, I put tape in these places. The pillow on top is comfortable and the stitching looks good. It's pretty obvious that they're modeled after the Sony MDR7506 because they have the words "STUDIO MONITOR" written on them (apparently the EQ curve is similar too). They don't come with a case, which is a bit annoying (I use a thin lens case to store mine), it comes with a gold-plated screw on the 1/4" jack adapter, and there's a 3-year warranty. Nothing more to say, there are certainly much better headphones out there, much more expensive, but then again I've read that many audio engineers say they prefer their Sony MDRs, the Senal SMH-1000 have a similar EQ curve and have a removable one String so it was easy for me.
