This sewing foot actually holds 7 threads for sewing on or other decorative stitching techniques. But I was surprised how small the holes in the foot are. You can't use anything thicker than pearl cotton or heavier thread in each of these holes. If you have a needle threader, you can thread baby yarn through each of the holes. The thicker the thread, the slower you need to sew so as not to create additional tension on the threads. If you plan to use decorative yarn and thicker threads or cords, look for a larger foot with fewer holes. This one wasn't as useful as I had hoped due to the very small size of the holes.
