The mounting groove is very small.
The installation of the balls was not easy, I had to drill a little acrylic. Didn't manage to get the long screws for the globe properly into the acrylic. The groove wasn't deep enough to carve. I tried using a Lutron dimmer but it was totally incompatible and the light just flickered every second. The light works via a normal switch. If you switch quickly, the light will cycle through its colors. Always lights up initially with 3k color.
