I hitch my bike quite often and an older biker suggested I get some "soft straps". These belts seemed like one of the best options for me and I'm glad I got them! It makes tying up my bike much better and easier. Cross-country riding can be very stressful when you're worried about your bike slipping in your trailer if it's not strapped in properly. Using these straps, I peek them over the handlebars and attach them firmly to the bottom D-rings. I tighten them A LOT by tightening the front forks about 2 inches. This makes for a very stable ride, the bike won't move 1/8 inch even when hopping in a trailer for 1000 miles. Really puts me at ease.
