brightness leaves a lot to be desired. But for the money it's great. The gooseneck is a bit flimsy but nothing I can't handle. I also like the channel control, dimmer function, timer and clip flexibility. You can screw the gooseneck to the top or back of the clamp mount, which is very convenient to fix things other than the rim of the fish tank. Or to adjust placement. Bought this for my retreat which is a really tiny compartment in my 10 gallon sump (10"L x 4"W x 7"H). If it were bigger I would like a brighter light.
