Items for emergency preparedness. I don't want to be surprised. I never thought my husband would use this on me. Last Wednesday night I fell and heard a bone crack in my leg. I lay on the floor and we tried to figure out how to put a splint on the bone before we moved. I remembered having these tires. My husband cut off a piece for the top and bottom of the calf and secured it with a curling iron. I was then put to bed and we had a wheelchair in case my mum got sick so I was taken to our car and taken to the emergency room. After the x-ray, I broke my fibula in two places and splintered the tibia. If I hadn't had my leg in a splint, I was told the fracture would be unstable and I would eventually need surgery. I saved myself major surgery, pins and plates just because I had this splint. I ordered a few more as soon as I felt good enough.
