Upgrade from a Gigabyte 9400 with a quad core processor (I know, but I'm running out of fuel so it worked great) that was heating up to 62 degrees. C (146.3F). After installing the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo, Gigabyte experienced a fatal memory failure. I figured this would be a great upgrade opportunity (which I was secretly planning to do anyway), so I settled on this processor, an MSI Extreme Gaming AMD 970 AM3+ with the cooler I mentioned. At the moment the ambient temperature is 98 degrees. (F), the CPU temperature is 41.5 Β°C, the CPU usage is 3.3%, so the overheating problem seems to be solved. I didn't have any problems with the software during installation with the included disc as someone else mentioned, but I did have to reinstall the video drivers. Overall installation and setup was easy, the CMOS interface is pretty cool and lightning fast so far so good.
