All the different styles are fun to use. I haven't used the timer yet because it seems the least you can set it for is 6 hours and I have no 6 hour period I would want the lights on. My only compliant is that I can not see any difference between the light and dark lights. It simply does not change. I bought two set of lights and tried both remote controls and they were both the same. No contrast. I decided that the lights were enough fun with just the one brightness, so I am keeping both sets instead of returning them. I really do like the idea of the on-off remote because I would have to get and use a ladder each time I wanted them off or on if I didn't have the remote.
