Rating changed to 5 stars after experimenting with a recently received YETI replacement. I must have been defective. The new one will hold cold ice and drink just like the crushed one. See photos of the results of the experiment. I contacted YETI about this product and this is what they told me: Thank you for contacting us! I have another YETI the same size and I use it for golf and it keeps my ice longer. I kept them both in the same conditions to see if it was me and this YETI is almost identical to my previous one and the only difference is the lid. Ice lasts longer in an old battered YETI than in a new one. See photos for comparison. in one the ice has melted and in the other there is no ice. Both filled at the same time and here is the result. They were kept in the same environment. Again, it's gone through a lot of handling wear that this new one didn't have as far as I can remember and you can see the difference in ice retention. I was completely satisfied with the previous YETI, now the ailing YETI still works. same size, style and color, the only difference is the lid.
