Prepara Evak Fresh Saver, Medium-Tall Airless Canister With Black Handle, 2.3 Quart, Clear Review

I purchased 2 of these canisters because I had a smaller glass one from the same company that I absolutely love. I knew these ones were plastic instead of glass but I was expecting something thicker. the lids dont fit as snug and secure as my other one but they are still effective and funtional. I would not buy these particular canisters again, but I also had higher expectations.

I can definitely tell when my beans have been exposed to air for too long. I have an airtight container but when it's getting toward the bottom there is obviously lots of air in contact with the beans. It's a big difference when I open a fresh bag. With this container there is no air in contact with the beans. I love the design with the little one way valves that let air in or out depending on which direction the plunger is going. I liked the product and noted that it said to hand wash lid so I did. Water got into the tiny holes on the top and bottom of the lid.I tried to shake it out thinking that there is moisture in the lid that would migrate to the ground coffee in the container portion. I let it dry upside down overnight and there is still moisture clinging to the holes. Will wait it out and hope evaporation will work. After buying one of these for myself at a local grocery, I've bought four more for gifts to friends. I can make a huge batch of guacamole and keep it fresh for over a week in this device. Sometimes a bit of browning around the edges, but very minor. Excellent product!

It’s ok, I m not sure how it is going to keep things fresh. I was going to use it for fresh lettuce but it didn’t seal tight so I will use it for other things. It sure is tall and I like that.

This is a nice little container for homemade guacamole but I didn't stop to check the quantity size. It's small if you're making guac with 3 avocados, like I do. Suction top works ok in keeping the guac from browning too much but not sure I'd purchase this product again.

I like this, you can dump a bag of ground in and keep the coffee fresh without worry of the bag seal coming loose and oxygen ruining your bag

I was reading the horror stories in the other reviews.If you are unfortunate enough to have a glass one, do yourself a favor and tape it up with that big clear USPS tape so if it shatters it will be less likely to cut you badly.Another benefit of the plastic is its a lot lighter and easier to use.Me and my wife use this to store our medical cannabis. I'm not deducting any stars because this is my fault - I didn't read the descriptions thoroughly I guess. I bought one of these previously and it was nice, thick glass. I just assumed they all were. The containers are useful, just not for what I bought them for. I'll find some use for them in the kitchen I guess.

I can't believe some people are using this for guacamole and other wet items. (However, I must add that the photos of the food in the container only show dry food.)The bottom of the plunger is perforated so any gunk that touches the lid will get into the inner workings of the plunger! If it isn’t balanced evenly it can slide in but only if it’s moved a lot. Wish they were stackable but it really does keep everything fresh.

I purchased this item and it already arrived cracked. Mind you, this is during the pandemic so what choice did I have besides wrap it very tightly with clear packing tape to make it airtight as needed. This is a good product, but I think they will have to work on making this product a little less vulnerable to cracking. If it arrives cracked due to shipping, I am wondering how long this will hold up in the long run.

I use this for one thing: storing guacamole. I put the leftover guac in this, push the lid down, which seals the guac off from air. The next day, the guac is still great. No brown at all. I did expect a tighter seal when I purchased these, I bought 3 in 2 different sizes. They are a nice clear plastic, and I washed them by hand before usage. I don't know if they will cloud up in the dishwasher yet. I think I prefer glass Ball jars and vacuum sealing, but I will use these for our RV.

I don't like digging down as coffee gets low. This keeps it fresh. For ground coffee, just do the lid slowly. Reduction in plastic waste!

I bought the small Prepara Evac Fresh Saver for some highly fragranced herb that I have. Unfortunately, it didn’t contain the fragrance 100%. Storing the Prepara Evac within a second larger Tupperware style container helped. I’ve been using the Prepara Evac for over a month and it has keep my herb moist and fresh.I think it’s a great value for the money, made well, and very easy to open and close for those of us that have arthritis.

I purchased this to store loose tea and it just plain works. Nothing fancy here but it’s a clean convenient way to store foodstuffs in an airtight container. It’s also nice to be able to see what & how much is inside.
