My windscreen is old and has minor scratches and pitting. These sheets are tough and just couldn't get water off the windshield in light rain, with consistent streaks. I threw them away and bought a set of Bosch blades, very soft and flexible. Still not perfect, but greatly improved. =======Update 30th October 2015 I bought a new windscreen as my old one (17 years old) was getting too loose for nice night driving and was getting terribly glare from the sun. And it was still annoying, even with expensive wiper blades. The day I got my new windshield I installed two expensive new Bosch wipers. Imagine my shock when the driver's side windshield was clearly smudged, just like the old windshield. However, the passenger side of the windshield was perfect. The problem appears to be in the wiper arm. It uses a spring to hold the wiper blade on the windshield. The spring holding the blade to the glass was noticeably weaker on the driver's side. Expensive Bosch blades are very springy and require a lot of pressure to keep the blade on the window. So I installed one of those cheap blades on the driver's side and, uh... great. Driving at night is now like driving a new car. So the lesson is that there are many reasons why your windshield can get dirty in rainy weather. Possible causes are dirt from the road, cheap windshield washer fluid, dirty/old wiper blades, an old windshield and a defective wiper arm (weak spring, bent).
