So I've only used this camera quite a bit but thought I'd make a first impression so post it now and I will update in a month or so. I'm not a professional photographer, but my main camera is a Canon EOS Rebel T3 DSLR Canon EOS Rebel T3 with an EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lens (discontinued by manufacturer). I haven't read the manual fully either. Pros: --------------- 1) Small and light: One of my co-workers threw me a camera box, not realizing there was a camera inside. 2) View from a distance: I get a series of photos I took from our back door during my lunch break. We are 0.7 miles from the cranes in the picture. I was able to get a good enough picture from a distance to read the manufacturers. I'm not sure if I can do this with my Rebel T3 just with a regular lens. 3) Filter settings: I haven't gone through all the settings yet. However, there is a setting where the camera takes more than 3 shots and automatically changes the filter. I just took a photo of the texture on the ceiling to test it out and it was pretty neat. Cons: ------------------ 1) First thing I noticed while taking the picture. outside is that it is difficult to see what you are recording on the screen. I've tried shooting in the shade and in direct sunlight and in both cases I really struggled to see. 2) Close-Ups: I tried using this instead of the camera in my Samsung Galaxy S4 phone to take pictures of my beta aquarium at work. I found that out of 8 shot attempts, only 2 were not blurry when using the cannon. I bought the same SD card that I will be using with my Rebel T3 so this shouldn't cause any lag. Basically I'm satisfied so far. At the moment I'm rating it a 4 but no matter how things change when I read the instructions it might be downgraded. If I'm going to spend $200 on a camera, I want it to work outside. I wanted this camera to always be in my purse because I don't want to carry around a bulky DSLR all the time.
