SEN-QII 6 Piece Loofah Sponge is made from a plant and does not contain any plastic contrary to the product material description. These sponges expand quickly when soaked in water (or held under a tap). It only takes about 30 seconds! On the one hand they are coarser and on the other hand they are thinner. They're good for everyday dishwashing, but not good for picking up crumbs from the counter or very chewy baked goods (which really need green sponges). Due to concerns about microplastics from synthetic sponges ending up in sewage treatment plants (and the ocean where we live), we've switched to loofah sponges for most handwashing in the kitchen. A small rope is handy to hang them up. I love her!
