I used the official Raspberry Pi v2 camera in my Quest project, but it needed near perfect lighting conditions to get a decent picture. The photo posted in my review was taken with no corrections in a 100% black room with no windows. That's great. The only assembly required is to screw the 2 UV lamps to the sides (screws included). The camera connects to any Pi (the ribbon connector is fully reset to the original Pi). From there, all you have to do is enable the camera interface in the configuration settings and you're good to go. Good product.
