Review on Taylor of Old Bond Street Mr. Taylor's Shaving 🧔 Cream Jar: The Perfect Blend of Classic Elegance and Superior Quality by Lauren Lewis

I've read a lot about how good TOBS is on forums like Badger & Blade so I decided to order this one. I received it yesterday and decided to try it in the morning after my shower. The smell is pretty amazing but the shaving cream didn't live up to my expectations when it comes to creating a nice lather. I used a very generous amount, much more than I normally use when using other shaving creams. I barely managed 2 shaves. I applied it to my face with a fine badger hair brush after lathering it in a porcelain bowl. I'm by no means an expert on lathering as I'm new to the world of safety razors and I usually get great results with my Art of Shaving and Crabtree and Evelyn products. I probably wouldn't buy this product again, Crabtree and Evelyn are the way to go. I feel like Crabtree and Evelyn protect my skin the best, probably because I get the best lather from them. Crabtree and Evelyn have the best flavors and foam yet. I get enough shaving cream from a coin sized amount of Crabtree product to apply to my face for 3 passes, I used 3x the amount of TOBS product and couldn't get enough for 2 passes. Crabtree products are expensive but worth it. If you do decide to buy some Crabtree products be sure to check online for a coupon, they're always floating there and the best flavors I think are Nomad, West Indian Lime and Sienna in that order. ***Update** I took Ajax's advice and instead of lathering up in a bowl as usual, I dipped the tip of my brush in shaving cream and then applied it directly to my face. The results were like night and day compared to making foam in a bowl. I can honestly say I had one of the best shaves of my life. There was no resistance, just an amazingly close shave.
