Review on πŸ“Έ Capture Crisp Moments with the Panasonic DMC-FZ7 6MP Digital Camera: 12x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom in Sleek Black by Kristi Marshall

Exceptional value at mid-range megazoom

After outgrowing my Olympus 3MP point-and-shoot-and-pray camera, I did a lot of research and settled on the FZ7. It promises the best value for money among long- to mid-range cameras - and heck, it does. The aperture or shutter priority modes allow you to control photographic effects and are a great photography lesson for those of us who grew up with fully automatic cameras. I took it to a Memorial Day party this weekend and got a couple of shots that turned out great without even thinking about the settings. Prepare for a flash indoors or buy a tripod. While there can be occasional indoor shots with enough ambient light to photograph, slower shutter speeds will push image stabilization to its limits. Fortunately, you can set the flash point manually. I was able to take some nice atmospheric photos of the interior using a cool flash and manually adjusting the exposure level. problem in low light conditions. I overcame this by manually setting the ISO to a lower sensitivity and adjusting the exposure accordingly. If you don't want to use my flash power trick mentioned above, but are willing to shoot in live light, you can get a decently steady shot, but it needs a bit of manual adjustment. I haven't seen any mention of the battery life on this thing anywhere. I've had the camera for a little over a week and judging by the battery indicator on the screen I'm still 2/3 full on the first charge. I bought a second battery because I hate downtime but have little idea I'll ever need one. In addition, the video quality is excellent and the audio this thing captures in its videos is wonderful. All in all a very good camera. .
