I live in South Texas and we often have hurricanes, tornadoes and power outages due to the weather. When they happen, you need to be prepared. We make an emergency kit with children just in case. Of course the kit includes food, first aid, batteries, flashlights, water etc. but we figured an emergency radio would work as well. It's not just radio, it's much more. IUT is a flashlight, has a power range and can be charged both from the mains or an external battery and from the sun. It also has a radio handle, which I think is the coolest. A bit of antiquity in modern technology. So children can see how things were in the past. The sound is excellent the radio is not bulky and not difficult to store. it even comes with a reading light, plus it already has a flashlight. It should be there for everyone as you never know when you might need it.
