I ordered it in XL which is my usual size and it fits perfectly. I washed it alone in the sink before putting it on and the color bled a little. I hung in the shower to dry and it was stiff and wrinkled looking. I continued to "pet" him with my hands. After drying, I rolled it up and put it in my suitcase for a trip to the beach. That was great. It got softer. Rolled up several times as a pillow. It was spacious and cool. I pulled the drawstring out of my neck as it was too long and annoyed me (I do that with sports sweaters too). I've worn it to the beach, lake, pool many times. It has been washed and dried many times. That is very nice. It just needs to be cracked.
