The lightbulbs in the lava lamp don't work!
I love my lava lamp but after a few years the bulb burned out. I thought it looked like a lightbulb and I didn't notice any special markings so I used a 40w lightbulb. It burned down in less than 12 hours. I thought there might be something wrong with the bulb. nope! The device's second light bulb burned out just as quickly. Buying official lava lamps has ensured my lamp works whenever I want it to.
