So if you're reading this, you're probably a Nikon photographer with an older camera that can't be upgraded to use CF Express cards . You don't want to invest more than necessary in a dead end map format. At $10 (September 2021), this reader is unique in that it comes with a detachable USB cable. Most of these cheap readers have hard cords that fail after being placed in a pocket a few times. I will not buy a reader that does not have a detachable and replaceable cable. Performance is good, probably because all of these under $50 readers use the same type of controller/internals. I tested both the 128GB Indmem card and the 32GB Sony G-XQD card and both worked fine (on a MacBook Pro). The Indmem card loads a bit slower than the Sony card (hence your card's lower price), but both work fine. Also, card insertion and ejection is very smooth, unlike some of the other $20 readers I've tested that nearly pierced the card with their crude mechanisms. If you want a card reader with similar performance but with a premium card slot (that sounded weird), I can recommend the $20 Trebleet card reader, which has a spring-loaded slot mechanism that's similar to how an SD card is inserted into a camera .
