I am the youngest in the family. I always had my husband reach for the top shelf with his hand, otherwise I would just have to lug the dining room chair to the counter, which I hated. I was fed up with all of this and decided to order a step stool. I love that this one is made of solid wood. It was very easy to assemble. All you have to do is assemble 4 legs on a wooden base and you have a beautiful step stool. It feels very durable and gives me just enough headroom to reach anywhere in my house. I like that its base is a little longer than most others I've bought. This gives my legs more room to stand and I don't fall over. This is a quality step stool and I am delighted to welcome it into my home.
