I bought this to try and remove a deep yellow stain from my translucent night protection and I'm happy to report that it has already removed about 95% of the yellowing in about 4 days of continuous soaking in the same solution , when I'm not wearing it at night. While the price might seem a bit high for those who don't want to max out the packs below the advertised 10 day limit, the fact that it was able to remove the stain with ease makes it totally worth it to me. Before trying this I tried some homemade soaking and scrubbing methods in hydrogen peroxide, baking soda and vinegar to no avail and when it worked I was very glad I bought it. Daily room cleaning, it also works as advertised. I used to follow the universally recommended cleaning method of cleaning with antibacterial hand soap, which worked for general cleaning but obviously wasn't thorough enough to avoid staining. When I take the night protection out of the night solution, it feels clean and smells clean. I didn't have the same issue as other reviewers regarding the strong chemical taste. I rinse it in cold water for about 15 seconds and I'm done. Although there is a very subtle chemical aftertaste, it goes away after a few seconds of wear. As for the hygienic considerations of keeping the same solution for 10 days, I don't think there's anything to worry about. If the solution stays/remains strong enough to get rid of any bacteria from your saliva/mouth/etc. to kill. at night vigil for X days it will definitely be a germ free environment (considering until it stops smelling/looks "clean"). For those worried about the solution picking up bacteria or dust on the surface, you could probably just cover it with perforated plastic wrap to allow for adequate airflow. Alternatively, you can rinse/clean your dental equipment again with hydrogen peroxide and rinse well, which should kill any germs that may remain. Overall it works and it works as advertised. It removed deep yellow stains and almost restored the clarity of my night shield when I first got it.
