I think all the bad reviews about this dongle are coming from people who haven't read the description of what this thing needs to work properly. This works if you have an aftermarket Android head unit. Personally, my main EONON device runs on an old version of Android. This will NOT work with the original head unit that came with your car, you must have an Android head unit. Installation was easy and was as follows, it depends if you have a front USB port on your head unit. I didn't, so I pulled out the head unit, plugged the dongle into the rear USB port, and routed the USB-C cable through the dash and through the handbrake. The next step is to download the semi-suspicious APK from "http://121.40.123.198:8080/AutoKit/AutoKit.apk". I was able to do this by parking in front of my house, connecting to my wifi and entering that address. The AutoKit app will be installed. At this point, connect your phone and the app will automatically load into Android Auto. As mentioned, you may need to look at developer options and enable USB debugging if it doesn't work. I also have an iPhone for my work phone, so I tested CarPlay as well. Worked perfectly after the phone call. In general, everything is fine with this adapter. It breathed new life into my old slow Android main device. Again, the most important thing is to read the instructions and make sure your main device is compatible.
