This is a factory item and works well. Maybe I'm too cautious, but I've stayed away from general things. The only problem I have is that due to the infrequent use of the printer, sometimes the nozzles get clogged and I skip lines when printing. I have found that removing the cartridges and nozzle cage and simply running tap water through the nozzles until the ink runs out works every time. Do not touch nozzles, air dry, shake off water. Again, do not touch the injectors. This happened after running cleaning and deep cleaning cycles and wasting a lot of ink to no avail. The nozzle body detaches from my MX850 without tools. There is a commercial detergent on the market but the ink is water soluble and tap water did the trick for me. Sometimes I have to run a regular cleaning cycle afterwards to flush out the remaining water and get back to work.
