Good mats for kids; not a fan of pens

This is a good rug for my son as he likes to play with it. He's still young (19 months) so he's basically just drawing little lines on him. If we want to play on the carpet, he asks for a pen and then plays on it for a while. The only thing I don't like is that the handles aren't easy to open and fill with water. We only use one handle that we can open and fill with water. We only have one child, so far so good.
