Review on Yctze Steering Leather Stitching Steering by Christopher Bates

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Amazing quality for the price. Big names (MOMO etc.) should be ashamed.

Design wise this steering wheel is perfect. This is a classic Sport/GT wheel without a plate - the spokes are perfectly flat from hub to rim. Exactly these kind of wheels can be found, for example, in an original Ford GT40, Ferrari or Jaguar from the 1960s. That zero-dish trait is very hard to find on a non-road bike, and road bikes don't have a horn button, so they weren't the best option for me. There is a high end brand I can't remember the name of that offers a zero cymbal but they are VERY expensive and have a very large center cap which I'm not thrilled with. If you watch Goodwood Revival or any similar classic car racing coverage, you'll see these wheels on a lot of cars. This wheel has a MOMO/SPARCO/OMP bolt pattern so accessories like horn buttons and adapters will work with it. The aluminum frame is as thick and stiff as these brands. The handle is leather that is very pleasant to the touch - the leather is soft and easily compressible, making it more luxurious (for lack of a better word) than the rock-hard MOMO handle. It's not like this. It's absolutely perfect. The aluminum surface is not as polished as on my MOMO Competition or Quark. It's not rough enough to be noticeable, except that when you rub your fingers vertically they leave some skin dust on the surface (for lack of a better word). But if you swipe it horizontally, it will happen instantly. In my example, the stitching under the bottom needle is a little crooked, but otherwise the stitching and seams are the same as MOMO. it has to be, and this bike seems to prove it. It came completely unmarked and I am assuming it came from a factory that makes bikes for well known brands. So for the price of around 70 € I'm thrilled. It was shipped directly from China and took about a month to arrive, but it appeared on the earliest estimated delivery date. I will be buying another one to have on hand for a future project. Meanwhile, this can be hung on the wall.
