The opposite of tough. Particleboard is only 1/2 inch thick and of poor quality, while the cheapest particleboard furniture is at least 3/4 inch thick. I broke a piece by inserting the screw according to the instructions. The rods that are supposed to hold the files are very flimsy, sitting just between two pre-drilled holes with about 1/16th of an inch of rod in each hole, and I suspect the weight of the files will destroy the boxes pretty quickly. a joke and they won't tell you anything about it, JUST LOCK THE TOP DRAWER Even with a padlock it's like padlocking a paper bag and won't stop a big kid from taking the cookies out of the drawer and disassemble sending it back wasn't that hassle, I would return it.I'm concerned about the printer that sits on it, but that's the only thing that keeps it from sliding on my hardwood floor when I open the drawers. Spend $20 more for a larger filing cabinet. On the other hand, it looks beautiful.
