Tedious drilling required but it works

Pre-drilling nail holes is very tiring, especially with small diameter bits. Fastened nails are not very strong. I tried gently pounding them with a rubber mallet without drilling a hole. In most cases I succeeded, but in a significant percentage of cases the nail simply folded to the side. Once in place, they seem to be doing their job well. Lesson learned: Buy the largest diameter legs you can use for your furniture. Larger diameter feet glide more smoothly and are less prone to snagging when gliding over tile joints.
