Review on πŸš—βœ¨ Enhance Your Car's Air Quality with Motorcraft FP-65 Cabin Air Filter by Eric Sharp

Replacing the cabin air filter on a 2009 Lincoln MKX or Ford Edge.

This was the first time I decided to replace my own filter on my Lincoln so I went with what I knew was 100% reliable and a perfect fit. And I was not disappointed. (However, next time I replace this filter I will use a cheaper aftermarket product as I think they are probably just as good and the replacement is quick and easy). Procedure: In the first step, the glove compartment is removed. Open the glove box fully. Remove the tether from the side (it will slip out of the larger opening into the front of the glove box). Let the cable slowly pull back into the dashboard. Then pinch the sides together to allow the box to pivot on the stops and remove (later cars may have hinge pins, remove the hinge pins first, they just slide out, then remove the glove box). Behind the glove box is a large fresh air duct with a small door (about 1.5 inches high and 10 inches wide) in the center. Open the door (latch on the left), swing open and remove. Go ahead and remove the old filter. It can get very dirty, so be careful not to soil the passenger carpet. (Mine was dirty and looked like it hadn't been changed in years). Install a new filter and replace the filter flap. Click closed. Reinstall the glove box, making sure the tabs on the bottom fit into the slots. (Reinstall the pins if your vehicle has them). Reattach the tension cable to the side of the glove box. Squeeze the side to push against the stops and close the glove box. Total replacement time is less than 5 minutes, no tools required. Addendum, 03/30/19. Correcting my original post, I found that instead of bending the tabs on the back of the glove box (which is a bit tricky) you just had to remove the cord bracket as above and then tilt the glove box. Allows the tongues to clean the sides from behind and the box detaches effortlessly. The last change (I'm currently using ATP carbon filter media) took less than five minutes from start to finish. Actually probably about three minutes. I also spray on new Filter Guards to improve efficiency. Works much better and can be bought from Revain.
