The inside diameter is actually 1.75 inches
Clamp is strong and easy to use. It is of high quality. Keep in mind that the intended purpose of the clamp appears to be a 1.75" ID, not 1.5". My solution was to cut a piece of plastic tubing and tape a strap around it to make up the difference and ensure a tight fit for my clamp application.
