Living with a Brita pitcher that filters almost nothing and a ZeroWater pitcher that filters but costs $15 . the filters had to be replaced every two weeks due to the sour-tasting water and the lid was completely non-functional, I finally decided on this type of filter. I don't know why I was messing around with those dingdang jugs. Thats much better. Some observations: Mine is connected to a rarely used sink. The filter reduces the amount of water a bit in bypass mode and I would find it annoying to cycle it back and forth if it was plugged into my kitchen sink. The filter change indicator isn't working, which Brondell customer service says may have something to do with the new filter style, but I add a reminder to my calendar and I don't care about the replacement indicator. With my TDS ZeroWater meter (maybe the only thing you get with a ZeroWater pitcher) I can see that Brondell doesn't remove as much TDS as ZeroWater, but it's definitely better than my fridge filter or Brita filter. , and the Brondell website has a good explanation of what they remove and why TDS isn't necessarily a meaningful measurement. My water tastes better, I don't go broke buying filters, and I don't have to deal with a spout that pours as much water on the counter as it does in my glass. Hooray!
