The duct tape itself is, well, duct tape. It does everything duct tape is supposed to do. The advantage here is in the form factor. Backpacks are small and light, so ideal for cycling. On a recent bike trip in Spain I picked up two packs of this stuff to pack my bikes for my flight home. It turned out that only one package was needed, since five meters of electrical tape is a lot. I've learned that when it comes to bike touring, the ability to find compact "solutions" to living with just 20 pounds of gear is just as important as strength and endurance. This material was my second biggest "find" on this tour.
