I paid my mechanic to hook my car up to his Tech II code reader. He told me which hubs to replace on my 2004 Impala. I bought them here and paid another man to wear them. Speed sensors fail and give incorrect readings when you drive slowly, usually right after starting the car. When you spin your wheels at different speeds, your computer system thinks a wheel is spinning and activates your traction control system, which is essentially the same as your ABS. It pulses brakes to slow a wheel it thinks is turning. Just like spinning in the snow. They work great, the ABS check and traction control engine errors are gone and the entire front end is tight again. It's like driving a new car. My car needed two in front. In fact, one code said it could just be a wiring issue. Sometimes when changing brakes, mechanics touch these wires and damage them. But who really knows, if it's wires you can wiggle them around and try to connect the connectors together. If that doesn't work, you can replace the hub. That's half the cost of the GM parts department at your Chevy dealership.
