I am installing an entertainment center with a TV that only has a component input and I wanted sharper graphics on my Wii and PS2. I was hesitant to buy one of the universal switchless adapters because they claim you can only connect one console at a time and cable switches are quite expensive with regular components. This gigaware adapter is the best of both worlds at an extremely affordable price. It looks well built and is very easy to use. I definitely recommend this product. Update (January 2016): I'm still using this adapter in a new setup. It is now connected to my PS3 (PS2 is now retired), Wii and Xbox 360. It works great and I would definitely recommend it. although I've encountered a few issues over time: * The length of the cable (Gigaware switch to TV) is too short, making it difficult to install this switch in a visible/convenient location. An extension cord would probably help. * 8 cables coming out from the back makes for a very messy look! It's a balancing act to make the switch visible and usable while still hiding the sheer volume of cables coming out of the back. * Other family members seem to find my TV settings confusing. Most people can figure out how to switch the input to Component 1 (now conveniently labeled "WIIPS3XB" for reference), but I always had to point them out and remind them to physically switch. *Not Gigaware's fault at all, and my soundbar sounds distractingly tinny or buggy for some reason in my setup when sending analog audio input through the TV's digital audio output. Getting around this issue requires sacrificing either simplicity or quality, although I'd happily keep both! Although it's going to cost a lot more, I think I'll end up dropping that gigaware switch and buying one of those Wii to HDMI adapters and then a good multi-port (hopefully 6+) HDMI switch to do the trick Keeping things simple and making things work the right way. and my soundbar sounds distractingly tinny or buggy for some reason in my setup when sending an analog audio input through the TV's digital audio output.
