This was a gift for a colleague who is retiring after 42 years. I was looking for something artistic, functional, made of quality materials and suitable for those entering a new phase of life. The size was perfect and it works great. I had to make a box for display and storage which added to the personal taste. When my son graduates from college I plan to give him a Neovivid compass as well. There was also a small hourglass on a keychain that could be attached to the compass - that was perfect.
