Overall, the device has some nice features, relatively poor written documentation, and a terrible password recovery process. them clearly in Microsoft Edge. The live view interface only allows three views, all 16, 4 and 1 cameras on one screen. An option with nine screens in a 3x3 format would be nice. In 4-screen mode there is a paging scheme with "next" and "previous" arrows. There's a nice option to draw a "Smartvent" perimeter for motion detection, which is nice. Annke's biggest shortcoming is the setup procedure. The quick start guide that came with this unit appears to have been written for the 8 channel model. The instruction manual was not included. The device is configured via on-screen menus controlled by the supplied USB mouse. The password setup step was a big problem as the password I entered didn't work right after setup. The lengthy and lengthy recovery procedure required bi-directional transfer of XML files via email to technical support for several days. A device factory reset mechanism available to the owner who physically owns the device would be much better and the security risk would be negligible.
